Live 365
Well, I just bought a Preferred Membership of Live365 a few days ago, and I really like it.
If you are a close person with me, you’ll know I have no regular music on my PC (aka, mp3). So I began, a few months ago, to listen to Live365 stations, which are really cool. Lots of music, lots of genres, etc.
The stations on my profile:
- Alternative Nation Radio. Great recent music, alternative and rock like.
-
Mejor Pop/Rock Espanol. A bullshit radio station about Latin pop and rock, but it is kinda funny
- Ska, Punk and Other Junk. Probably the best radio station on Live365.
- Ultragroove Live. Beautiful groovie and funkie music.
Live365 is nice. And legal.

Debian Control Center
Finally today was our Debian Control Center meeting. I was pretty cool, I was happy to see the channel full of people, although not every one was in the active talk.
The log can be reached here.
Seems like we have to start really working.
Tomorrow I’m giving a course with Ta^3 and p4ola of Linux, it is a long course of 80 hours, I’m giving the three first days (24 hours) on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday, after that I hope I could go to some vacation days next weekend, hopefully to Acapulco, but if I am lucky (which means money), I would love to go to Cuba, but I see it a little bit difficult, probably Cancun would be a better and cheaper choice.

DWN
I was very happy to see my name on the Debian Weekly News yesterday announcing the IRC meeting for the Debian Control Center (or Centre, ;-).
It seems that lots of people is getting interest on this issue. I’m working on the talk schedule for Sunday, I’ll publish it soon, I hope today.

Couple of packages
Finally, libgtk-trayicon-ruby (and -ruby1.8) has entered to Debian queue. This was done thanks to Paul van Tilburg.
The reason I filled an ITP for trayicon library of Ruby was a couple of things:
- I wanted to learn Ruby stuff, which seems pretty cool. Like a nice combination of Perl and Python. The best of both are on Ruby.
- I was planning to package GNOME GTray.
The first reason was pretty cool. Although, I am having problems with the second which will bring me to not package it. Why? Two main reasons:
- GTray is released on GPL. It uses OpenSSL stuff. It doesn’t provide an exemption for this incompatibility issues. So, it can’t be packaged for Debian, at least, not officially.
- It is illegal to code external programs of GMail, really.
Reading the Terms of Use document of GMail, I finally get to the conclusion for the last reason:
5. Intellectual Property Rights. Google's Intellectual Property Rights. You acknowledge that Google owns all right, title and interest in and to the Service, including without limitation all intellectual property rights (the "Google Rights"), and such Google Rights are protected by U.S. and international intellectual property laws. Accordingly, you agree that you will not copy, reproduce, alter, modify, or create derivative works from the Service. (!!!!!!!!!!!! ->)You also agree that you will not use any robot, spider, other automated device, or manual process to monitor or copy any content from the Service. The Google Rights include rights to (i) the Service developed and provided by Google; and (ii) all software associated with the Service. The Google Rights do not include third-party content used as part of Service, including the content of communications appearing on the Service.
Interesting. Tomorrow I will send this issue to debian-legal to see what are their thoughts.
I also have a couple of packages ready: kipina and mathomatic, the last one is a great piece of maths software, studying Computing and Electronic Engineering I find it wide cool.

From Coatzacoalcos
Well, I put my ass on a bus, and eight hours later I was in Coatzacoalcos, in the beautiful state of Veracruz, very near to Tabasco.
I came for a couple of days to do some work with Salvador, which is in charge of the Linux User Group of Coatza and besides, he is the founder of the never-born NetBSD-MX project.
Hot? Well, It is 8:21 in the morning, I’m sitting on a bed with wireless access, with a huge fan next to me, can’t complain. Yet. I don’t want to feel the weather at 2 pm or so.
I hope to be in Mexico Shitty by Saturday morning, when have eaten several delicious sea food from Gulf of Mexico
